No, you can't mount it in the ceiling without the rough in box.

Are the lights hard wired or do they use generated power from water falling?

does this come with faucets?
This system consists of Shower Head & 4-knobs mixing valve (what you see is what you get). If you need to add to this system Spout or handheld, then you would need to upgrade the system from 4-knobs valve to 5-knobs valve. We do sell a system with 5-knob valve & Hand held. Does this come in any other finishes?
It does come with Gold, Brushed Nickel, or Oil Rubbed Bronze, however the lead time is 6-8 weeks, and there is about 32% more price difference.

Will standard 1/2 inch pex hot/cold feeds provide adequate pressure for this unit? Thanks
½” Hot/Cold input will not affect the water pressure of the shower head as long you maintain a water pressure of a minimum of 40-50psi.

Does the remote control the temp of water too?
No, the remote control doesn't control the temperature of the water, it controls the LED lights of the shower head.

For the shower to be functional and suit all family members, the shower head should be installed approximately 78 to 108 inches above the floor.
